Everyday Exile Photojournalism showcases images from Tibetan exile communities, mainly in India. The goal is to educate viewers in other countries re: everyday life, culture and issues facing Tibetans who have fled Chinese-occupied Tibet. We now also present various other aspects of Himalayan cultures,
Based in McleodGanj (upper Dharamsala), the capital of Tibet in Exile and home to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama since he fled into exile in 1959, Everyday Exile Photojournalism attempts to record this critical stage in Tibetan history. Tibetan culture is changing, as subsequent generations are born in exile, exposed to a new set of cultural influences and facing a new set of issues.
Photo features will explore various aspects of Tibetan Buddhism, daily life such as food and clothing, as well as community events and activism.
